Capability · Scope Wrap-Up
Scope wrap-up. Projects close, they don’t just deliver.
A delivered shipment is not a closed project. We finish what we start: final document package, demobilization, equipment returns, invoice reconciliation, customer sign-off. The scope is closed when the customer says so, not when the BOL is signed at the gate.
Why scope close is a separate discipline
A delivered shipment can still be an open project.
Most freight transactions end at delivery. A bill of lading is signed, an invoice is sent, and the next shipment starts. Project work doesn’t end that way. A project closes when the documentation is complete, the rented gear is back with its vendor, the discrepancies are reconciled, the invoices are matched to the scope, and the customer signs off. Anything short of that leaves the customer holding open items, and a project that “felt finished” weeks before it actually was.
Scope wrap-up is the discipline that closes the gap. It exists because we’ve seen what the absence of it costs.
Scope
What we deliver to close the project.
Project document package
Bills of lading, customs entry confirmations, packing certificates, weight and dimension certificates, photo documentation of packing and sea-fastening, lift plans, rigging sign-offs, permit documentation, escort records, route survey notes, on-site receiving photos, sign-offs. Assembled in a single deliverable. Index included.
Equipment demobilization
Rental cranes, trailers, gantries, and specialist equipment released back to vendors. Condition documented. Return sign-off captured.
Discrepancy resolution
Cargo condition flags, missing items, paperwork errors, customs flags. Chased to resolution before close. Open items not allowed to drift past project close.
Invoice reconciliation
Vendor invoices reviewed against scope. Discrepancies resolved with vendors before they hit the customer. Final scope invoice issued with a transparent breakdown. No surprise line items.
Customer sign-off
Final scope review with the customer’s project lead. Sign-off in writing. Project closed.
Lessons handoff (internal)
Internal LGX review captures what worked, what didn’t, what to repeat or change. The customer benefits indirectly on the next project; the discipline benefits LGX always.
